No. 14 Lady Bears open with DH split

The No. 14 Truett McConnell softball team opened the season last week by splitting a doubleheader with Middle Georgia State University. The Lady Bears fell 6-3 in the first game of the non-conference doubleheader, but bounced back with a dominating 11-0 run-rule win in the nightcap.

Title bid stopped

It's time for the White County Lady Warriors to put on some dancing shoes. WCHS opens play in the Class AAAA state basketball tournament  Friday night in Cleveland, taking on Central High School. The game tips off at 6 p.m.

Four Warriors headed to state

White County has four wrestlers in Macon this weekend, chasing a Class AAAA state championship. Sidney Sullens, Devin Sullens, Sean Wurtz and Justin Gilbert make up the Warrior contingent at the state finals, which began this morning in Macon.

WC opens tourney with big win

The White County Lady Warriors never allowed West Hall to breathe Tuesday night in the opening round of the Region 7-AAAA tournament. The Lady Warriors used a fast start to put away the Lady Spartans, keying a 69-32 win and push their record to 18-7 on the year.

Warriors fall in double overtime

The White County Warriors put together a valiant effort Monday in the opening round of the Region 7-AAAA tournament, but suffered a heart-breaking double overtime loss to Chestatee.

The plan was simple for the White County Lady Warriors' region tournament opener against West Hall – Survive and advance. The Lady Warriors did just that Tuesday night in Cleveland, blasting the Lady Spartans in a 69-32 rout.

A contingent of seven White County High School wrestlers are headed to Perry this weekend for the Class AAAA Sectional B tournament. The Warriors' contingent is led by junior Devin Sullens, who won the 7-AAAA championship last weekend at the region tournament at Flowery Branch High School.

Bears open season with 16-5 win

The Truett McConnell University baseball team opened the 2020 season in dominating fashion Tuesday in Toccoa, blasting Toccoa Falls College 16-5. After two scoreless innings, senior Evan Bensch opened up the third inning with a solo home run.
