UPDATE: The boil water notice has been lifted as of Saturday, Oct. 19, according to the City of Cleveland. The City of Cleveland issued a boil water notice Friday morning related to a 6-inch water main break.

Early voting underway for municipal elections

The early voting period for municipal elections in Cleveland and Helen is underway. Advance balloting will be held until Friday, Nov. 1, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Cleveland City Hall, and from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Helen City Hall.
In honor of those veterans living in White County who have served, or those from White County currently in any branch of the Armed Forces, the White County News will publish a special salute to veterans on Thursday, Nov. 7. The Cleveland City Council is looking into options for the city fire department’s aerial ladder truck after it failed an inspection. Cracks on the ladder truck were found during the annual inspection and the vehicle was taken out of service, according to Cleveland Fire Chief Ricky Pruitt.

Grand jury returns 40 indictments
