Pets of the week for the week of Nov. 11 from White County Animal Control and Charles Smithgall Humane Society. At White County Animal Control, Pippa is a 6-month-old female Lab who loves to hop around. This super playful girl also has some manners, and will train easily.

Fire destroys J.W Reed’s Tavern

J.W. Reed’s Tavern was destroyed in a fire Sunday morning. The fire started before the restaurant opened, so there were no customers present, but co-owner Regina Ward and an employee were inside. They were able to escape with no injuries, said Cleveland Fire Chief Ricky Pruitt.

The unofficial 2019 Helen and Cleveland municipal election results are as follows: Helen City Commission Jeff Ash: 103 Cinnamon Spurlock: 63 Fred Garmon: 73 A total of 135 voters cast ballots out of 518 registered voters.
