‘It’s very heartbreaking’

The future of a longtime Cleveland establishment is uncertain after a Sunday morning fire destroyed JW Reeds Tavern on Nov. 10. Ed Ward, who owns the business with his wife Regina, told the White County News on Nov. 12 that they haven’t decided what the next steps will be or if they’ll rebuild.

Cleveland approves change for townhome development

The Cleveland City Council has approved rezoning that clears the way for new housing. The request by Be Squared LLC to change 1.7 acres it owns at 189 Jackson Heights from residential mobile home use to Planned Unit Development (PUD) was presented at the council’s Tuesday, Nov. 12, meeting.

Firefighters respond to minor incident at McDonald's

Firefighters responded to a report of smoke at McDonald's in Cleveland earlier this evening. Cleveland Fire Chief Ricky Pruitt said it appears that there was a malfunction with a heat and air unit on the roof.
