Christmas Love Letter, filmed in Helen and the surrounding area earlier this year, will air on Lifetime on Saturday, Dec. 21.

White County graduation rate rises

White County High School’s graduation rate is back on an upswing.
The 2019 WCHS graduation rate was 92.5 percent, up from 88.3 percent in 2018, according to data released last week by the Georgia Department of Education.

Lost hiker rescued on Yonah Mountain

Emergency responders rescued a hiker on Yonah Mountain after an hours-long operation on Monday, Sept. 23.
White County firefighters responded to the call around 5:30 p.m. and learned a hiker had gotten separated from his spouse on the trail, said White County Public Safety Director David Murphy.
