Helen to replace playground equipment at Riverside park

The playground at Helen’s Riverside Park is getting an upgrade. Helen City Commissioners approved purchasing new playground equipment for the park. “We wanted to get as large of a facility as we could at Riverside Park, along with a couple of toddler swings,” said Helen City Manager Jerry Elkins.

Report of missing man spurs search

A Cleveland man has been reported missing, and searchers are looking for more clues to his whereabouts. As of Wednesday morning, Sept. 18, White County Sheriff’s Office Capt. Rick Kelley said the search continues for 42-year-old Bobby Levesque.

Man rescued after falling on Yonah Mountain

A man had to be rescued after falling from the rock face of Yonah Mountain on Sunday, Sept. 15. White County firefighters responded to the call around 4 p.m. about a 55-year-old male falling, according to White County Public Safety Director David Murphy.
