Pets of the week for the week of Nov. 18 from White County Animal Control and Charles Smithgall Humane Society. At White County Animal Control, Kate is a 3-year-old female pit mix who is all love! Kate has had a bad beginning to life, and we are hoping to get her a sweet home.

A traffic stop in White County in September netted $120,000 worth of drugs. According to Trent Hillsman with the Appalachian Regional Drug Enforcement Office, at approximately 2 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 13, White County deputies conducted a traffic stop on U.S. 129 in the area of Poppy Drive.

Firefighters respond to two fire calls

Firefighters responded to two recent fire incidents, one on Wednesday night and one in the early morning hours on Thursday. According to Ana Newberry with White County Fire Services, firefighters responded to a report of a chimney fire at a residence Ga. 254 near Westmoreland Road, around 8 a.m.
