Costs going up for garbage in White County

by Linda Erbele White County News At its Dec. 6 meeting, the White County Commission reluctantly agreed to accept the increases in price that Waste Management Inc. offered in its 2023 contract. “We’re very frustrated, but we’ve been backed into a corner,” said Commission Chair Travis Turner.

Cleveland motels making improvements

Noted arts organizer dies

Christmas in the Mountains set for Saturday

The White County Chamber of Commerce 40th annual Christmas in the Mountains Celebration, presented by the City of Cleveland, will commence this Saturday, Dec. 3 in downtown Cleveland. The county-wide event begins at 5 p.m., with the Christmas Vendor Market on the square from 5-8 p.m.

A Cleveland Halloween tradition

Kathy and Peter Lumpkins have been hosting neighborhood Halloween events for over ten years. They have opened their artistically-painted, colorful home on Church Street in Cleveland for the last four years to friends, neighbors and strangers for a community trick-or-treat event.
