Constitution Day Celebration set for Sept. 17 in Sautee

A Constitution Day Celebration is planned for 3 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 17, in the Sautee Nacoochee Cultural Center’s historic gymnasium. The program will feature comments from Dr. Joe Cash, Mountain Education Charter High School director of student performance.

GROW program to offer support for grandparents, others raising children

After seven years on the bench with the Enotah Judicial Circuit, Superior Court Judge Stanley Gunter will retire at the end of this month. “I feel too young to retire, but it’s time,” says Gunter, 60. “I’ve had judges who have retired that are much older than I am.

Could traffic cameras or automated crosswalks be coming to Helen? The Helen City Commission discussed the ideas at its Sept. 10 meeting after Commissioner Steve Fowler said he wanted the commissioners to consider installing traffic cameras at two intersections in downtown Helen.
