Voters who find it difficult to cast their early ballot during the week will have a chance this weekend. Early voting will be open this Saturday, May 30, for the county, state and federal elections only, and will take place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Program serves over 115,000 meals

School buildings may have been closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but White County School Nutrition has remained busy, serving more than 115,000 meals in just over two months.

The Helen Police Department’s Operation Winter Heat has taken drugs valued at more than $50,000 off city streets in recent months. “Winter Heat is a concentrated effort to take down the drug suppliers in Helen, Georgia,” according to a statement from Helen Police Chief Brian Stephens.

Two arrested for Cleveland armed robbery

Two people have been arrested following an armed robbery at a gas station in Cleveland on Saturday, May 23. According to Lt. Donna Sims with the Cleveland Police Department, at approximately 6:18 p.m.
