Edelweiss Drop kicks off new year

Have you ever seen an edelweiss drop? Well, now you can on New Year’s Eve at the seventh annual Dropping of the Edelweiss at the Helen Festhalle. This family-friendly event starts at 8 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 31, said Renee Green, Chamber executive director.

There are no new leads in the case of a missing Cleveland man, Bobby Levesque, who was reported missing three months ago. On Friday, Dec. 20, White County Sheriff’s Office Captain Rick Kelley said law enforcement had followed up on several tips, but they haven’t turned into anything.

Warriors drop region matchup

Chestatee handed White County a key 7-AAAA loss Tuesday night in Gainesville, using some long-range shooting skills to knock of the  Warriors 63-57. The Warriors dropped to 1-3 in region play and 6-6 overall with the loss, which snapped the team's three-game winning streak.
