White County receives AEDs from Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation

The Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation named White County Fire Services a 2021 grant recipient.  The $15,540 grant will be used to purchase 12 Zoll AutomatedExternal Defibrillators(AEDs), which will help ensure our community is safer and better prepared for emergencies.

White County announces interim county manager

White County has announced that Shanda Murphy will serve as the interim county manager starting June 26. The move comes following the resignation of current county manager Jason Cobb, whose last day will be June 25. Cobb started working as the county manager in April 2020.

A pair of White County High School graduates will begin their high school coaching careers when the 2021-22 academic year begins. Hannah (Wall) Satterfield has been named the golf coach at Tallulah Falls School, while Logan Turner is the new cross country head coach at Lumpkin County High School.

By Jenny Gregory   Truett McConnell University has appointed longtime athletic director and softball Jenni Shepard to Vice President for Athletics. Since being named Athletic Director in April 2018, Shepard has made an enormous impact on the TMU campus, earning the respect of her peers.
