Applicants are being sought for a vacancy on the White County Board of Elections and Registration. The development follows the departure of Board member Marlon Caldwell, who resigned effective immediately in a June 4 letter to the White County Board of Commissioners.

A proposed county nuisance ordinance has been trashed. The White County Board of Commissioners voted unanimously at a June 7 meeting to abandon a draft framework intended to address property maintenance concerns, such as junk, unkempt vegetation and public health hazards.
