Family Promise acquires property for new center

Family Promise of White & Habersham has acquired a home property that will soon serve as its new family day center, aiding its mission to combat homelessness in the community. The nonprofit group closed on the 403 West Kytle Street property (across from Jack P. Nix Elementary School) last week.

Authorities responded to a report of a commercial burglary at a business in White County. According to a media release from White County Sheriff's Office Captain Clay Hammond, WCSO responded to Alexander Auto Glass, 11 Dandelion Court, for a call about a commercial burglary.

WCHS runners compete at Warpath Invitational

The White County High School cross country teams competed in their biggest meet of the year last weekend in Canton, taking part in the Warpath Invitational. The meet featured more than 20 schools from around the northern half of the state.

The first four weeks of the high school football season have been somewhat frustrating for the White County Warriors as they've stumbled out of the gate on the way to a 1-3 start.

WCHS falls to Bluff

The White County High School volleyball team came up a little short Tuesday night in key Area 7-AAA match with Cherokee Bluff. The Lady Warriors dropped a 2-1 decision to the Lady Bears, and fell to 2-4 in area play.
