A large contingent of White County athletes participated in the Special Olympics Georgia State Masters Bowling Tournament. last weekend in Warner Robins. White County had 12 athletes competing in singles competition, which included more than 1,000 athletes from around the state. The White County group brought home nine gold medals, two silver medals and a bronze medal. The Friday Night Lights will turn on for the White County Warriors in just over a week when Lumpkin County comes to Cleveland for the 2019 football season opener on Aug. 30.
