Warriors look to get back in state mix

The White County Warriors will look a little different look this year under second-year head coach Wade Mawdesley. With Austin Harris, who started for the three years and eclipsed the 1,000-point mark last season, graduating, the Warriors are employing an up-tempo transition offense.

Lady Warriors aim for third state trip

The past two seasons for the White County Lady Warriors' basketball team have ended with a lot of frustration and heart break in the opening round of the Class AAAA tournament. This year, the Lady Warriors are hoping that the third time, is in fact, the charm.

The high school football season is winding down with the state playoffs, so it's time to start handing out some post-season honors. On Tuesday, the 7-AAAA All-Region team was announced, with five White County High School players among the list of the region's best players.

Lady Bears grab AAC soccer title

Staff report   T he Truett McConnell women's soccer team made history last week, winning the Appalachian Athletic Conference tournament title. The Bears (18-2) pulled off the feat with a 2-1 double-overtime win over Tennessee Wesleyan in the league title match in Cleveland.

The Mountain Football League capped off the 2019 season with six Super Bowl III games last weekend at Warrior Stadium in Cleveland. 6U Division The Warriors finished off a stellar season with a 9-1 record, knocking off Lumpkin County 14-0.

JROTC Raider squads bring home national honors

Warriors get past Chestatee 34-14; wrap up season with Blessed Trinity

The White County Warriors have made eight trips to Chestatee since 2002, and they've never had to come back to Cleveland with a loss. Last Friday night, the Warriors made sure the road winning streak continued, posting a 34-14 win over the War Eagles.
