Appointments to the new White County Board of Elections and Registration could be decided next week. The county received 18 applications for the election board’s five seats, which are expected to be discussed at the White County Board of Commissioners next meeting on Monday, Sept. 28.

by Wayne Hardy and Stephanie Hill   Joey Kastner is being remembered for the impact he made as a professional, coach, friend and family man. Kastner, White County’s animal control division chief, passed away Friday, Sept. 18, after a reported battle with COVID-19. He was 36.

Emergency personnel responded to a report of a residential fire on Tuesday, Sept. 22. A call came in around 7 p.m. about a kitchen fire at a residence on Ga. 255 North that the fire was started from grease while somebody was cooking, according to White County Public Safety Director David Murphy.
There have been 727 total confirmed COVID-19 cases in White County since the start of the pandemic, according to the update  on Monday, Sept. 21, on the Georgia Department of Public Health's website.

There have been 727 total confirmed COVID-19 cases in White County since the start of the pandemic, according to the update  on Monday, Sept. 21, on the Georgia Department of Public Health's website. In White County there have been 92 hospitalizations and 18 deaths attributed to COVID-19.
