Mother arrested for murder

A mother has been arrested and charged with murder in connection to the death of her 19-month-old child. Quinn Riley Wood, 21 of Cleveland, has been charged with murder, aggravated battery and cruelty to children, the White County Sheriff’s Office announced Monday morning, March 2.

White Creek finishes season with tourney title

White Creek Christian Academy recently capped off the high school basketball season by winning The Knight's Court Classic championship in Ellijay. The Eagles won four games on the way to the title, knocking Crossroads Academy 74-65 in the championship game.

Lady Warriors shut out Raiders; Warriors draw with West Hall

It was cold. It was wet. Really wet. But the first round of the Crown Mountain Cup played on Monday night in Cleveland. The White County varsity soccer squads opened play in the annual tournament, which concludes Saturday in Dahlonega.

White County's deepest run in the state basketball playoffs in more than 35 years came to an end last week in Columbus as the Lady Warriors were knocked out of the Class AAAA tournament by No. 1 Carver-Columbus, 65-49.
