The plan was simple for the White County Lady Warriors' region tournament opener against West Hall – Survive and advance. The Lady Warriors did just that Tuesday night in Cleveland, blasting the Lady Spartans in a 69-32 rout.

A contingent of seven White County High School wrestlers are headed to Perry this weekend for the Class AAAA Sectional B tournament. The Warriors' contingent is led by junior Devin Sullens, who won the 7-AAAA championship last weekend at the region tournament at Flowery Branch High School.

Friday UPDATE: According to David Murphy, White County officials are continuing to assess the damages from flooding on Thursday, Feb. 6. The assessments will continue. All roads have reopened, except for Sandy Flats Road between Far Winds and the Lumpkin County line.

Cam Greene is the latest candidate to announce plans to run for White County probate judge. Greene, 35, is a White County native and life-long resident. He has been employed with Barrett Funeral Home since 2010, while also managing his landscaping business, Greene Grass, since 2012.

The search for a missing White County woman came to a sad end on Tuesday, Feb. 4.  According to White County Sheriff’s Office Chief Deputy Bob Ingram, the body of Brenda Vandiver, 63, was found about 800 feet from her car in Andrews, North Carolina.
