A one-vehicle accident in White County claimed the life of a Gainesville man on Monday, July 27. According to SFC Auston J. Allen with Georgia State Patrol Post 6, they were requested to assist the White County Sheriff's office with a fatal crash investigation that occurred at 7:22 a.m.

A rabid raccoon in the Danny Palmer Road area is the 14th confirmed rabies case in White County for 2020. According to White County Environmental Health Manager Sean Sullivan, on Friday, July 17, a dog owner was awakened by their dogs barking around 6:30 a.m.
