Authorities responded to a late night structure fire on Monday, Nov. 2.
According to White County Public Safety Director David Murphy, at approximately 11:30 p.m., White County Fire Services responded to a report of a structure fire on Adventure Way in Mountain Lakes.

There have been 1,022 total confirmed COVID-19 cases in White County since the start of the pandemic, according to the update on Sunday, Nov. 1, on the Georgia Department of Public Health's website. In White County there have been 108 hospitalizations and 24 deaths attributed to COVID-19.

The Chattahoochee River was lined with people on Saturday, Oct. 24. But they weren’t watching tubers. Instead, they were watching 2,400 ducks race down the river as part of the Great Helen Duck Race benefitting Family Promise of White/Habersham.

White County has hit 1,000 confirmed COVID-19 cases, though its rate of new infections continues to slow.
That information comes from the Georgia Department of Public Health report on Tuesday, Oct. 27, White County had its first confirmed case reported in mid-March.

Wood processing plant plans moving forward after fire

unty Mouldings suffered extensive fire damage this past Thursday, planning began for rebuilding and caring for displaced workers.
Emergency crews responded to a 3:30 a.m. Oct. 22 about a blaze at the facility on Appalachian Trail Drive in Cleveland. No injuries were reported.

Hurricane Zeta makes presence known in White County

Even though it had lost strength by the time it reached White County, Hurricane Zeta still made its presence known on Thursday, Oct. 29.
On Wednesday, Oct. 28, a Tropical Storm warning was issued for most of north Georgia, including White County.

Authorities searching for missing Cleveland man

Authorities are searching for Tam Thank Mai, a Cleveland man who has been reported as missing.
According to the White County Sheriff's Office, he was last seen in the area of Helen, Georgia. Mai is 5'11, weighs 165 pounds, has black hair, and brown eyes.
