Soccer teams post region wins over Gilmer, Dawson

After the first week of the Region 7-AAA soccer schedule, it appears that the road to the region title might run through Cleveland on both the boys and girl's side.

Driver charged in death of passenger

A driver involved in a Feb. 17 wreck has been charged following the death of a passenger days later. Matthew Morgan, 30, of Marquette, Michigan, has been charged with homicide by vehicle and other offenses following the crash on Helen Highway near Tom Bell Road.

White County High School recently announced Evan Quarles as the 2021 class valedictorian, with Eamonn O’Bryant as the salutatorian. Quarles said he knew he was near the top of the class, but wasn’t sure if he had the top spot.
