In Cleveland, the Christmas in the Mountains celebration and parade will be this Saturday, Dec. 5, from 5-8 p.m., with the parade starting at 7 p.m. There will be vendors on the square as part of the holiday market, and a Christmas tree lighting in Freedom Park at 6:20 p.m. The parade will follow its normal route from Jack P. Nix Elementary School through the Cleveland Square to White County Middle School.

There have been 1,294 total confirmed COVID-19 cases in White County since the start of the pandemic, according to the update on Sunday, Nov. 29, on the Georgia Department of Public Health's website. In White County there have been 134 hospitalizations and 27 deaths attributed to COVID-19.

Clermont woman charged with arson

A Clermont woman has been charged with two counts of arson related to an incident earlier this month. Jennifer Lynn Casillo, 31, was charged with first degree and third degree arson, as well as criminal damage to property. The charges stem from a Nov.

A White County school bus was involved in an accident around 3 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 19, at Ga. 115 and Campbell Street. Triston Wathen, 19 of Cumming, was driving a 2010 Ford Fusion west on Ga. 115 and was slowing down to stop because of traffic, according to the Georgia State Patrol.
