Cleveland is moving ahead in a search for its next police chief after receiving 21 applications. City Administrator Tom O’Bryant said Monday that he is in the process of reviewing and screening for finalists, which should be done by this week.

Calling the Bears' bluff

For the first time since 2017, the White County Warriors have a ticket for the state high school football playoffs, and appear to be peaking at the right time after demolishing Cherokee Bluff last week in the regular season finale.

Two children seriously injured in head-on collision Sunday

Two children were flown by air ambulance following a two-vehicle wreck on Sunday, Nov. 22. The collision happened around 2:40 p.m. on U.S. 129 south of Brett Road, just north of White County High School, according to the Georgia State Patrol.

A White County school bus was involved in a mini accident at approximately 3 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 19, at U.S. 115 and Campbell Street. According to White County School System Superintendent Scott Justus, there were 28 students on the bus and on injuries in either vehicle.
