WCHS splits matches with Bluff, McDonough

Staff report   The White County volleyball team split a pair non-area matches last week during a home tri-match in Cleveland. The Lady Warriors scored a 2-0 straight set win over McDonough, but dropped a 2-0 decision to Cherokee Bluff in a matchup of two of the top teams in Class AAA.

by Mark Turner White County News   The Lumpkin County Indians held off a late rally by the White County Lady Warriors last week to keep a stronghold on the lead in the 6-AAA softball race.

WCHS nets a pair of wins

Staff report   The White County Lady Warriors picked up two more wins over the past week, including getting an Area 6-AAA victory over Chestatee. The Lady Warriors are now 6-9 on the season, with a home tri-match on the docket for this afternoon as the team celebrates Teacher Appreciation Day.

WC runs with top teams at Preview

Staff report   The White County High School cross country teams competed in one of the top early season meets last weekend in Jasper. The meet included 21 teams from around north Georgia and the metro area, including several teams that are expected to make a run at state titles later in the year.

Warriors fall to Rabun in opener

Staff report   The White County Warriors had a tough night on the opening weekend of the 2025 season, falling to Rabun County 42-6 in Clayton. After a 45-minute lightning delay, the two teams traded turnovers on the first two plays of the game.

Staff report   The White County High School softball team will try to chase down it's first Region 6-AAA this afternoon in a matchup with Chestatee at the WCHS softball complex.
