An annual arts experience including three sites in White County returns this weekend. The two-day WinterFest Arts Tour will include festivals at Unicoi State Park & Lodge, the Helen Arts & Heritage Center and the Sautee Nacoochee Center and will feature 145 artists.

Whether as a minister, writer or a friend, Joe Mason is being remembered for kindness and the connections he made with many people. The longtime White County News columnist and Sautee Nacoochee resident passed away Feb. 3 at the age of 85.

Cleveland resident arrested after fleeing deputies

A burglary suspect accused of fleeing deputies has been arrested. White County Sheriff Rick Kelley said deputies had been looking for Corey Franklin Cantrell, 32, of Cleveland for a few weeks in regards to a burglary investigation. On Tuesday, Feb. 9, around 7 p.m.
